E. Longmeadow, MA — Motion Control – LM76 has announced the release of their new line of Radial Ball Bearings featuring ZrO2 (Zirconia) Ceramic balls. To Complement LM76’s broad range of Linear Bearings that are FDA/UDSA/3A Dairy compliant, as well as linear bearings for extreme environments; they have added Deep Groove bearings which accommodate radial and axial loads, Angular Contact bearings for simultaneously handling radial and axial loads, Spherical Bearings which are self aligning, and Thrust Bearings for high axial loads. Each of the four types of metric bearings are available in a wide range sizes.

The advantages of ZrO2 ceramic balls are: FDA/USDA/3A Dairy/Caustic washdown compliant, lighter than steel balls and can be used at extreme RPMs, they withstand higher loads without spalling, have a lower coefficient of friction, are inert to chemicals, have no magnetic signature, and are non conductive.

Linear Motion Control Technology – “New Design Pillow and Flange Blocks!

Motion Control – “New Design” Pillow and Flange Blocks!

motion control - pillow blocks

E. Longmeadow, MA  — Motion Control  – Linear Motion – Lubricating Stainless Steel and Self-Aligning Linear Ball Bearings has never been easier! “New Design” pillow blocks and flange blocks from LM76, features a lubrication fitting, and an alignment set screw in the pillow blocks and flange blocks, and the Stainless Steel and self aligning linear bearings are modified by having an alignment flat ground on the bearings’ outer shell and drilling a hole through the outer shell.

Lubricants can then be pumped directly inside of linear ball bearing races without having to remove the bearing from the shaft. The Pillow and Flange Blocks also have been designed to accommodate an encapsulated ETX Scraper Seals that prevents contaminants from getting inside the bearing and retains the lubricant in the bearing.

E. Longmeadow, MA — Motion Control  – In dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic many companies have volunteered or been requested to produce urgently needed medical products such as: Masks, gowns, and ventilators. “Tooling Up” quickly to produce medical grade products for some companies can bring challenges.

Motion Control – One Piece ETX Linear Bearing/Pillow Blocks Can Be Used In Radioactive Environments!

LM76

E. Longmeadow, MA Motion — Control Components – Linear Motion – LM76 now offers one piece ETX Linear Bearing/Pillow Blocks that will not degrade in a radioactive environment! Machined from a solid block of self lubricating ETX, linear bearing-blocks have high strength, excellent wear resistance, low coefficient of friction, and excellent dimensional stability at higher temperatures As there is no other materials such as PTFE seals or lubricants these bearing-blocks are maintenance free. Custom designed for use in a nuclear power plant these linear bearing/pillow blocks travel on ceramic coated shafting (also supplied by LM76) completely submerged in radioactive water. Designed with a slight interference fit between bearing ID and shaft, contaminates are scraped from the shaft’s surface. The low frictional characteristics of ETX have little impact on drive force. They are now available in Inch and Metric sizes.

ETX bearing-blocks are also FDA/USDA/3-A Dairy compliant and are also are ideal for: Pharmaceutical, medical, food, and dairy processing applications.

EXT features a high continuous service temperatures up to 210°F (100°C) and offers good chemical and abrasion resistance, low moisture absorption, and resistance to staining. These ETX linear bearing-blocks with the slight interference fit keeps the bearing free from debris and bacterial contamination, are not affected by biological fluids, mild acids, can be washed down with cleaning agents, and steam cleaned.

Don’t need solid EXT bearing-blocks consider the FDA/USDA/3-A Dairy compliant electroless nickel coated or stainless steel pillow blocks with PTFE linear bearings and Snap-in EXT Scraper Seals which are available for closed linear bearings, and closed pillow and flange blocks.

LM76 also manufacturers a broad variety of FDA & USDA compliant bearings and shafting, in inch sizes of .25 inches to 1.5 inches, and a FDA & USDA compliant profile rail and slide system that can easily be integrated into new and existing applications. The bearing options include: Self-lubricating FDA & USDA compliant Teflon® composite bearings in a 304 stainless steel shell, and lower cost bearings with a ceramic coated shell and FDA & USDA compliant liner. Bearings are available in closed and open configurations, and are drop-in replacements for all inch sized linear ball bearings.

The Engineering Edge – One Piece FDA Linear Bearings and ETX Scrapers!

Engineering Edge -FDA Bearings/Scrapers

Motion Control – The Engineering Edge -Our latest linear bearing innovation is our FDL-ETX one piece bearing. ETX (FDA) Scraper Seals are machined into our Fluidline Linear Bearing. Our customer, a manufacturer of packaging machinery for the pharmaceutical industry, required FDA and washdown compliance. Further, they could not allow debris to include between the bearing and the shaft. They had been offered a number of catalog options that were close but no cigar! After reviewing the application, we approached them with this truly innovation option and it was well received and specified. At LM76 we distill down to the “right” design – we don’t saddle you with a catalog option.
