Van Nuys, CA – — Motion Control – An extensive series of XZG Positioning Stages (X-axis, Z-axis, and Goniometer) is the newest addition to the OES (Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc.) family of high precision motion control stages. Built to order, a user can select from any combination of linear stages with travel lengths of 15 mm, 30 mm, 50 mm, and 75 mm for both the X and Z axes that feature high precision 1 mm per turn lead screws, and if required travel lengths over 100 mm are also available. Additionally, any of three goniometers with +/-10, +/-15, +/-45 degrees of travel can be selected and mounted in a horizontal (pictured) or vertical orientation.

Additionally, four motor options are the: -01 version which has Stepper Motor driven axes, -02 version has Three Phase-Servo Motor driven Axes, -03 version has DC Servo Motor Driven Axes and -04 version has Stepper Motor Driven Axes with Quadrature Optical Encoders for position verification.

Low, medium, and high speed ranges are button selectable. The X, Y, and Z axis speeds are controlled by the tilt angle of the handle and the angle of rotation of the knob.

The Pitch axis (lower stage) is a high precision goniometer stage which features preloaded cross roller guides and a high ratio worm drive for smooth motion over a range of travel of +/- 45 degrees. It has a typical accuracy of 0.05 degrees and repeatability of +/- 0.01 degrees. Additionally, this axis has end-of-travel limit switches.

This high precision miniature size rotary stage is just 35 mm (1.378 in.) high and the footprint including the standard 2-phase 1.8 degree stepper motor is only 58 mm (2.283 in) by 100.5 mm (3.957 in ). The table has a precision pattern of 6 8-M2x4L threaded mounting holes in the rotary table for fixtures or tooling, and an 8 mm (0.315 in) diameter through hole. Countersunk holes in the base allow for easy unobstructed integration into new and existing applications. The diameter of the AR39-AH Miniature Rotary Table is 39 mm (1.535 in.) and range of travel is a full 360 degrees of continuous rotation.

(OES) offers a very low cost, low profile solution for the precise measurement of angles or the rotation of an object to a precise angular position. The AK130-15 Goniometer Stage is just 2.362 in. (60 mm) high and the height of the center of rotation is 4.724in. (120 mm). The 4.724in. x 5.118 in. (120 mm x 130 mm) table has +/- 15o of rotation at speeds up to 10 o/sec, and features a precision ground worm gear with a 304:1 ratio and a resolution of 0.0005o with a 10 micro-step per step stepper motor driver; the stage is also available with a servo motor and optical encoder. This low profile goniometer stage is ideal for: Microscopy, crystallography, measurement of surgical cutting blades, laser positioning, light measurement, and inspection applications.

Critical measurement and inspection operations are assured because of the high precision worm gear and crossed roller guides, (Repeatability of +/- 3 arcsec, Accuracy of +/- 8 arcsec, and Backlash of +/- 3 arcsec). This compact black anodized Motorized Goniometer Stage measures just 12.952 in. (329 mm) long (including the standard 1.8o stepper motor by 5.118 in.
