Motion Control – Panel Mount Brush Servo Drives for Centralized Motion Control Systems!

Motion Control – Servo Drive
Motion Control Servo Drive

Motion Control - Servo2Go

Greenville, DE -Motion Control Components – The AxCent™ (Axes for Centralized control schemes) product platform brings the proven and powerful performance expected of ADVANCED Motion Controls, with improvements to the design architecture that utilize years of experience in the industry and the latest advancements in modern servo system design.

As technology continues its shift from analog to digital, there is still strong demand for analog designs. The reason? Analog drives provide some attractive benefits:

  • Simplicity – It’s easy to train your people to set the correct switch and potentiometer settings.
  • Proven Track Record – AMC have been building analog drives since their inception. They have continuously improved their designs to mirror the advances in component technology.
  • Performance – When tuned to maximum performance, analog current loops can often times achieve higher bandwidth and faster response than digital current loops.

How can analog outperform digital? It all comes down to the components. In a digital system, A/D conversions and processing time can add delays ranging from 20 to 100 microseconds. This may not seem like a lot, but in the highest bandwidth systems delays of this magnitude create a sizeable phase lag.

The other driving factor is cost. Large volumes and mature designs make prices attractive for everyone (except our competitors)

North Babylon, NY – Motion Control Components – Rolling Motion Industries (RMI) is changing the world of mechanical power transmission! New Two Way MAR-17-2-3:1 and the MAR-23-2-3:1 Speed Reducers using Traction Drive Technology leveraged engineering fluids and precision manufacturing with a simple design that features exceptional reliability and up 98% efficiency! The MAR17-2-3:1 Speed Reducer is designed for input speeds up to 3600 rpm with 10 to 20 in/lbs of torque, and the MAR-23-2-3:1 Speed Reducer is also rated for speeds to 3600 rpm but with an input of 20 to 30 in/lbs of torque.

The propriety engineered traction fluid with a coefficient of friction of just 0.1 to 0.12 transmits torque between the four driving and driven elements. The traction fluid continuously changes from liquid-to-solid-to-liquid in the microscopic spaces between the driving and driven elements. Even though there is no metal-to-metal contact there is no slippage! These compact speed reducers are quiet, generating up to 72% less heat even after weeks of continuous operation, and offer thousands of hours of trouble free operation, as the traction fluid cools and lubricates the traction drive speed reducers.

Having low vibration, and no torque losses from 10 to 3000 rpm, these 3:1 2 way speed reducers let motors operate at peak efficiency while having a damping effect on a motor’s torque ripple. The speed reducers are available with an optional overriding clutch to protect the components as they can not be back driven. Incorporating standard NEMA mounting dimensions, they can be easily integrated into new and existing applications.

Creating 38% lower dB at 3000 rpm than conventional gearboxes these people friendly speed reducers are ideal for use in medical equipment such as mobile hospital equipment and dialysis machines as well as pumps, blowers, fans, turbo and super chargers, conveyers, HVAC systems, and other power transmission and motion applications.

About Rolling Motion Industries (RMI)-

About Rolling Motion Industries (RMI): In 1993 John Pawloski and his brother Ray took over the family business, Jewelers Machinist Co. They realized they needed to switch from outdated conventional thread grinders to CNC thread grinders. As a result, Jewelers Machinist Co is recognized as the source of some of the most complex thread grinding in the industry. The concept for the RMI traction drive came from John in 2007. Working in that high precision industry aided John in the development of the RMI Traction Drive.

In the years that followed, the design of the individual components and formula of the engineered traction fluid were finalized, testing was completed, a patent granted, and production begun. The RMI Traction Drive is one of the most efficient ways to transmit power from one point to another. Utilizing rolling motion, RMI is able to transfer power at various ratios with minimal energy loss. Tested against V-belt, direct drive, chain, and gearbox setups, RMI Traction Drives offer energy saving benefits through true efficiency rating percentages up to 98%. The high efficiency of the traction drive allows electric motors to run at their peak efficiency ranges.

There are many applications where it can be used from automotive to industrial to medical. The RMI traction drive can be used in the electric vehicle market and precision applications. Offering benefits such as low backlash and no back driving, it set a new standard for “high efficiency”.

Motion Control – Integrated Motors Feature Fast and Easy Setup for Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley PLC’s!

Motion Control - Electromate-Logo

Vaughan, Ontario, Canada — Motion Control Components — After the successful introduction of the complete range of ServoStep integrated motors JVL is now releasing Add-On-Instructions for fast and easy setup and programming in Rockwell Automation’s Studio 5000 software.

All-in-one unit: Motor, Absolute multiturn encoder, Drive, Controller, PLC and Ethernet Switch as well as TÜV-approved STO option. The integrated design with the controller in the motor minimizes the size of the control cabinet. With less components in the cabinet, the cooling requirements will be lower, reducing both system cost and running costs.

JVL´s ServoStep motors offer state-of-the-art performance that in some applications can rival servo motors at a lower cost. The high torque at low speeds make compact solutions without gear possible. The ServoStep family offers up to double power in same size compared to similar motors, due to higher current/voltage and advanced regulation.

JVL’s closed-loop ServoStep technology eliminates loss of steps and never stalls. The technology causes a paradigm shift that changes your perception of what you can do with a stepper motor. Ultra-high torque enables direct drive without gearing. The motor series also has current control, which lowers power consumption and allows 100% duty cycle without overheating. The ultra-high step resolution of 409,600 step/rev decreases acoustic noise and results in a smooth-running motor.

The wide speed range from 0 to 3000 rpm can be adjusted in increments of 0.01 rpm. Due to automatic tuning, programming is fast and easy.

The motors have 8 programmable inputs/outputs: each can be set up as digital input, digital output or analog input. Motors are equipped with EtherNet/IP interface and as option you can choose STO (Safe Torque Off) versions.

The motors are perfect for multi-axis applications and format adjustments where high positioning speed is required. Due to ultra-high torque, no gear is needed.

For end-of-line packaging and food and beverage applications enclosure class IP65 can be delivered.

To fulfil the demands for diagnostics and easy maintenance in factories of the future the motors are designed for IIoT and are Industry 4.0 ready.

The motors include a 2-port Ethernet switch to reduce wiring in daisy-chain configuration (DLR). Several LEDs enable technicians and operators to get a quick status overview.

To save time, Add-On-Instructions are available for Studio 5000. It makes commissioning fast and easy and the motors can be set up in 5 minutes or less.

Industrial Ethernet:

The motors have the ability to be upgraded with other protocols or newer versions of the same protocol at any time. Because of the upgradeability, the JVL industrial Ethernet interface is also ‘future proof’ as newer versions of the protocols will always fit into the design. The user can switch between Profinet, EtherCAT, Powerlink, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP and SERCOS.
